Inbound and outbound sea traffic via the Wandelaar pilot station has been suspended until 26 November at 07:30 due to industrial action at the Zeebrugge Traffic Control Centre. During this period, vessel movements are only possible via the LKN pilot station.
The Vlissingen pilotage service was also on strike on Tuesday, further constraining maritime access to the port.
While ship movements within the port area remain possible, towage services are operating at just 45% capacity. Port officials said VTS and passage planning are fully operational, and all locks and bridges are functioning normally.
At present, 33 outgoing and 37 incoming vessels are waiting without any clear outlook for movement.
Port operations are only expected to restart once authorities gain clarity on staff availability and any further industrial action.
The disruption is part of a wider national strike taking place between 24–26 November, with further delays expected at the port of Antwerp-Bruges.
