The Caravel Group has formed a strategic joint venture with Celsius Shipping to co-own and operate a new fleet of high-specification LNG bunkering vessels, underlining their commitment to supporting the maritime industry’s shift to cleaner fuels.
The partners have placed a firm order for two 20,000 cbm LNG bunker vessels at China Merchants Industry Holdings Co., Ltd. and China Merchants Heavy Industry Jiangsu Co., Ltd., with deliveries set for the third and fourth quarters of 2027.
This marks the first co-ownership initiative between Caravel and Celsius, building on more than a decade of collaboration in ship management and newbuilding supervision.
Under the arrangement, Celsius will lead commercial strategy through its LNG chartering relationships, while Caravel will provide capital and operational expertise.
