Spanish shipyard GONDAN has signed a contract with Norway’s Østensjø Rederi to build a methanol-ready offshore tugboat.
The vessel will be 50 meters long with a bollard pull of 150 tonnes and will be based on the Skipsteknisk ST-933 design.
It will feature a diesel-electric hybrid propulsion system and be “methanol ready”, allowing future conversion to lower-carbon fuel.
Delivery is scheduled for the first quarter of 2028.
