Torben Carlsen, former CEO of Danish ferry and logistics group DFDS, has been appointed Chair of maritime technology company Ofiniti.

Carlsen will lead Ofiniti’s Board of Directors as the company enters its next phase of international expansion.

Ofiniti provides a digital platform for planning, coordinating, executing and documenting marine fuel deliveries across major bunkering hubs.

The company said Carlsen brings a strong shipowner and customer perspective, which will support its efforts to connect fuel suppliers, buyers and infrastructure providers through a single operational platform.

Ofiniti originated as FuelBoss within DNV and became an independent company in September 2024. It has since expanded through the acquisitions of Singapore-based Angsana Technology and Dutch company Teqplay.

The company now serves more than 200 customers and processed more than 40,000 bunker operations in 2025. It also estimates that it holds a 40% share of Singapore’s digital bunkering market.

Carlsen served as DFDS CEO from 2019 to 2025, having previously been the company’s CFO. He currently chairs investment funds at Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners and GRO Capital and sits on the board of Royal Unibrew.

“After many years in the shipping industry, I know how critical fuel and bunker operations are to both economics and day-to-day operations,” Carlsen said.

He added that Ofiniti had established a strong position and that he saw “significant potential in bringing supply, demand and infrastructure closer together”.
