French shipping company CMA CGM has taken delivery of its latest LNG-capable containership, CMA CGM Pantheon.
The 24,000 TEU vessel is fitted with a dual-fuel engine capable of operating on LNG as well as conventional marine fuels.
CMA CGM Pantheon is a sister ship to CMA CGM Notre Dame, which was delivered in May, and will be deployed on the Asia-Europe trade route.
The company did not disclose additional details about the vessel, including the identity of the shipbuilder.
The delivery forms part of CMA CGM’s ongoing fleet renewal programme, which includes adding more LNG-capable vessels as the company seeks to reduce emissions from its container shipping operations.
