Finnish maritime software provider NAPA has launched NAPA Checklist, a mobile-first tool designed to replace paper and static PDF checklists with guided digital workflows.
The application walks crew through procedures step by step, ensuring tasks are completed in the correct order while automatically recording each action with a timestamp and the name of the person who completed it.
Completed checklists are fed directly into NAPA Logbook, removing the need for duplicate data entry. Shore-based safety and compliance teams can use the NAPA Checklist Editor within NAPA Fleet Intelligence to create, update and publish checklist templates to individual vessels or entire fleets.
They can also monitor checklist status in real time, including whether tasks are complete, in progress or overdue.
NAPA said the tool can be configured for mandatory checklists required under ISM and SOLAS, as well as procedures within an operator’s own Safety Management System.
The product was co-developed with officers and crew from cruise and expedition operators, including HX Expeditions, and is now being rolled out across its expedition cruise fleet.
