Fratelli Cosulich has launched its third methanol-ready bunker tanker at a Chinese shipyard as part of a four-vessel series.
The IMO Type II tanker, Carlotta Cosulich, was launched at Taizhou Maple Leaf Shipyard, the marine fuel supplier said.
The vessel features MarineLINE-coated cargo tanks and has been designed to allow a future conversion to methanol propulsion.
It follows Anna Cosulich, another methanol-ready tanker from the series that Fratelli Cosulich took delivery of in May for deployment in Singapore.
The company said the methanol-ready design gives Carlotta Cosulich greater flexibility as alternative marine fuels gain ground in shipping.
