DSV, Google and Microsoft have joined the Zero Emission Maritime Buyers Alliance (ZEMBA), bringing the group’s membership to more than 50 companies.
The additions strengthen ZEMBA’s pool of cargo owners and other maritime buyers looking to support lower-emission ocean freight.
ZEMBA seeks to use the combined purchasing power of its members to create demand for zero-emission shipping and help drive investment in cleaner fuels and technologies.
The alliance said the three companies recognise both the challenges and opportunities facing the shipping industry as it works to reduce emissions.
Amazon is among ZEMBA’s early backers.
