TFG Marine is expanding the use of mass flow metering technology in the Caribbean, with one of its bunkering barges now heading to Jamaica.
The Kingston Trader has been fitted with a Coriolis mass flow meter (MFM) system certified to ISO 22192 ahead of its deployment in the country.
The barge will operate through TFG Marine’s local partnership with Scott Petroleum and will be the first bunkering vessel in the region to use the technology, TFG Marine said.
The installation brings the proportion of TFG Marine’s fleet equipped with MFMs to about 88%.
The companies also plan to work with Jamaican maritime authorities and industry stakeholders to share experience with MFM technology and examine its potential benefits for bunkering standards in the region.
