Jan De Nul Orders Next-Generation Subsea Rock Installation Vessel

Jan De Nul has ordered a new subsea rock installation vessel, the George W. Goethals, fitted with ultra-low emission technology and dual-fuel engines capable of running on biofuel and methanol.

With a carrying capacity of up to 37,000 tonnes, the vessel will focus on subsea protection for offshore energy infrastructure, including cables, pipelines and foundations.

Its operational activity will target the North Sea and Southeast Asia, where large-scale energy projects are advancing.

The George W. Goethals will be the third rock installation vessel above 30,000 tonnes in Jan De Nul’s fleet.
