The Port of Antwerp-Bruges has cautioned companies of possible disruptions between October 10–12 as the activist group Code Rouge prepares large-scale protests in Belgium and other European countries.

In an advisory issued last week, the port authority urged firms within the port area to take preventive measures and maintain close communication with security teams.

“Although specific targets are not yet known, logistics, transport, and energy remain possible focus points

“Police and security services are closely monitoring the situation and will dynamically scale up their presence where necessary,” the authority said.

According to the group’s website, the protests are aimed at halting what it describes as logistical support through Antwerp for Israel’s military activities in Gaza.
