US-based Stabilis Solutions has signed a 10-year LNG bunkering agreement with an undisclosed customer at the Port of Galveston, covering about 50 million gallons per year.
The deal represents around 40% of the planned capacity from Stabilis’s proposed Galveston LNG liquefaction facility, which is expected to produce roughly 350,000 gallons per day once completed.
Deliveries are expected to begin in late 2027, pending the achievement of financing and construction milestones.
Stabilis said the project will also include a Jones Act-compliant LNG bunkering vessel to supply vessels in Galveston, Houston and nearby Gulf ports, helping expand the firm’s bunkering network in the region.
“Our new 10-year bunkering agreement marks a transformational milestone for Stabilis,” said Casey Crenshaw, Executive Chairman and Interim CEO.
“Once the Galveston LNG facility comes online, it will become our largest liquefaction plant and significantly increase our market presence within the Gulf Coast.”
