Climate technology company HutanBio has promoted Brittany Hook to the role of chief commercial officer (CCO) as it prepares to scale up deployment of its third-generation biofuels.
Hook, who joined the company in November 2024 as business development director, will lead HutanBio’s efforts to commercialise its algae-derived biofuels for use in shipping, sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and road transport.
“Brittany has built the commercial approach that allows us to move at pace,” said Paul Beastall, CEO of HutanBio.
“Her ability to turn technical innovation into market opportunity has been central to our journey from lab to deployment, and this promotion recognises her impact.”
HutanBio plans to begin construction of its first commercial-scale facility in the second quarter of 2026.
“My focus is securing commercial agreements that deliver immediate carbon savings while laying the foundation for rapid global scale-up,” Hook said.
