Yinson GreenTech (YGT) has unveiled its latest fully electric cargo vessel, designed to boost zero-emission port operations and set new standards for sustainable maritime logistics.

The company plans to deploy the vessels in the UAE by mid-2026 under new charter and cooperation agreements.

Developed through YGT’s marinEV division, the new vessel offers three times the range, faster charging, and greater cargo capacity than its 2023 prototype. It combines clean propulsion with digital technologies for real-time analytics, route optimisation, and automated vessel management.

YGT has signed its first bareboat charter agreements with Yacht International UAE and a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Wilhelmsen Port Services to encourage the adoption of electric vessels across UAE ports.

“This project demonstrates how electrification and digitalisation can transform port operations,” said Jan-Viggo Johansen, Managing Director of marinEV. “The UAE deployment marks a key step in bringing our clean marine technologies to new markets.”

Yacht International CEO Prakash Vakkayil Bhaskaran added: “We are proud to support the UAE’s Net Zero 2050 goals and lead the shift toward cleaner, smarter marine operations.”
