Hamburg-based Gefo Shipping Group’s vessel, Gioconda, bunkered biofuel for the first time.
The vessel was bunkered with B100 in Rotterdam on 15 October. The biofuel was derived from used cooking oil methyl ester (UCOME).
“GEFO has thus taken another step towards further reducing greenhouse gas emissions in its fleet and complying with regulations for sustainable shipping.”
“We would like to thank Finco Energies in Rotterdam for their excellent cooperation on this project and look forward to many more biofuel bunkers in the near future,” Gefo said.
