Bunkering firm Peninsula has launched a new biofuel storage and blending facility at the Chane Terminal in the Port of Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

The first phase includes nine tanks with a total capacity of 30,000 cbm, along with jetties and berths for both barges and seagoing vessels.

The site is ISCC certified and Nea registered.

A second phase, due in January 2026, will add eight more tanks, increasing total capacity to 110,000 cbm.

The terminal allows Peninsula to blend any grade of biofuel from a B5 blend to up to B100 and to manage product quality in-house.

The company said the facility will support its biofuel strategy and help customers meet decarbonisation targets.

Thomas Van Hoeteghem, Regional Supply Manager North-West Europe at Peninsula, commented: “We are delighted to expand our footprint in Rotterdam, Europe’s largest port.

“This new facility not only strengthens our operational capabilities but also demonstrates Peninsula’s ongoing commitment to sustainable marine energy solutions. By investing in advanced infrastructure and flexible blending options, we are empowering our customers to meet their decarbonisation goals with confidence.”
