Molslinjen has been awarded DKK 180 million under the 2025 “Investment Support Scheme” administered by the Danish Energy Agency.
The subsidy will be used to acquire three fully electric fast ferries — set to replace part of the current fossil-fuel fleet — for service on the Kattegat connection.
The new ferries are expected to begin operations after 2027, forming what is described as one of the world’s largest and fastest fully-electrified ferry routes.
Under the plan, Molslinjen estimates the conversion could avoid around 132,000 tonnes of CO₂ emissions per year
