Shipowner Sallaum Lines has expanded its vehicle carrier fleet with the delivery of the LNG dual-fuel pure car and truck carrier (PCTC) Ocean Legacy, the latest addition to its Ocean Class series.
The vessel was built by China Merchants Jinling Shipyard (Jiangsu) and can transport around 7,400 car equivalent units across 13 decks. Measuring roughly 199.9 metres in length with a 37.7-metre beam, the ship is designed for long-haul trades and incorporates LNG propulsion alongside energy-efficiency features aimed at lowering fuel consumption and emissions.
Its arrival follows the recent deployment of sister vessel Ocean Explorer, signalling a steady rollout of modern tonnage under Sallaum Lines’ fleet renewal programme. The company has been investing in dual-fuel ships to enhance operational flexibility while aligning with tightening environmental standards across key trading regions.
“The addition of MV Ocean Legacy marks a practical step in strengthening our fleet and improving its environmental performance,” said Chairman Sami Sallaum. “This delivery reflects our ongoing investment in modern vessels designed to reduce emissions and improve operational efficiency.”
