Unmanned robotics firm DroneQ Robotics has entered into a partnership with offshore services provider Mark Offshore covering the deployment of the DP1 ROV support and survey vessel R/V Mintis, according to a press release dated April 2.

Under the agreement, DroneQ gains exclusive rights to use the vessel for its own projects as well as work carried out with Intertek and other third parties.

The vessel, managed and operated by Mark Offshore, will be deployed as a combined platform offering ROV systems, drone capabilities, and integrated offshore services. The move builds on an existing working relationship between the two companies.

Mark Offshore, which provides vessel management, consultancy and subsea support services, recently took over the management of R/V Mintis on behalf of its owner, Klaipėda University in Lithuania.

The vessel is equipped with two advanced ROV systems, including a 350m-rated inspection unit and a deeper 1,000m-capable system with 3D imaging and intervention tools. It will also carry maritime inspection drones designed for offshore wind and oil and gas infrastructure surveys.

DroneQ said the vessel will support a range of operations including subsea inspection, construction support, salvage work, and environmental and geophysical surveys.

Mark Offshore added that the partnership has already resulted in a project within the first week of commercial operations, highlighting immediate utilisation of the asset.
