Baleària has started sea trials for its LNG-fuelled fast ferry Mercedes Pinto, as it prepares to bring the vessel into service.
The trials, taking place off Gijón, will test speed, manoeuvrability and system performance over several days to confirm operational readiness.
The vessel is expected to be deployed in the Canary Islands once Baleària completes its planned acquisition of assets from Armas Trasmediterránea.
Designed as a high-speed LNG-fuelled catamaran, Mercedes Pinto is aimed at improving connectivity while reducing emissions compared with conventional marine fuels.
