CMA CGM has announced the launch of its new KEA service, designed to strengthen connectivity between the US East Coast and Oceania.

The service will complement the carrier’s existing RTW PAD product, making CMA CGM the only operator offering two weekly departures on the trade.

Southbound, the KEA service will provide full US East Coast coverage, including calls at Philadelphia, Charleston, New York, Savannah and an import call at Tauranga.

Northbound, the service will expand coverage with calls including Port Chalmers and Charleston.

The service rotation will be: Philadelphia / Charleston / Balboa / Tauranga / Sydney / Melbourne / Port Chalmers / Tauranga / Manzanillo / Cartagena / Philadelphia / Charleston.

The first vessel deployed will be Spirit of Melbourne, with the northbound voyage scheduled to arrive in Sydney on 3 February and the southbound voyage reaching Philadelphia on 17 March.
