French shipping company CMA CGM has added another dual-fuel methanol vessel to its growing fleet with the delivery of the CMA CGM Helium.
The ship was officially named at a ceremony in South Korea, the company announced in a LinkedIn post on Tuesday.
Capable of running on both conventional fuel and methanol, the Helium is set to operate on routes linking key regional ports including China, Korea, Singapore, Egypt, Lebanon, Slovenia, Italy, Croatia, Saudi Arabia, and Malaysia.
The delivery underscores CMA CGM’s ongoing investment in cleaner propulsion technologies as it works to reduce the carbon footprint of its global container operations.
