Coral Marine has carried out the first-ever biofuel bunkering operation by barge in Greece, supplying a B24 blend to the container ship Xin Lian Yun Gang at the Piraeus Container Terminal.
The operation took place last week and was announced by the company in a LinkedIn post.
The terminal, located in Athens, is operated by Cosco Shipping Ports.
The B24 blend was produced using a locally sourced bio-component from VERD and blended with fuel oil at the Motor Oil refinery.
The blend is 21% lower in CO₂ emissions compared to conventional marine fuels and is fully compliant with ISO 8217:2024 standards, ensuring both reliability and performance.
