Hamburg-based towage provider Fairplay Towage has joined the Tug Network Team (TNT), marking the alliance’s expansion into Europe.
TNT, an alliance of independent towage operators launched in the Americas in 2024, said the addition of Fairplay expands its footprint to 113 ports across 13 countries with a combined fleet of more than 200 tugs.
The alliance was originally formed by Group Ocean, a Canada-based towage and marine services firm, Brazil’s Sulnorte and CPT Towage, a Panama-based towage operator, with the aim of strengthening cooperation between independent towage providers and offering broader service coverage to shipowners and operators.
Fairplay Towage, headquartered in Hamburg, operates in 24 European ports with a fleet of more than 100 tugs and has over 120 years of maritime experience. Its operations cover ports across Germany, the Baltics, Poland, the Netherlands and Belgium.
With Fairplay joining the network, TNT said customers will gain wider access to coordinated towage services across both the Americas and Europe through a network of independent operators.
