All passengers and crew were reported safe after a ferry and a tanker collided near Singapore’s Southern Islands on Monday evening.

The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) said the Singapore-registered passenger ferry Horizon 9 and the Marshall Islands-registered tanker La Digue were involved in the incident at around 5 p.m. on 10 November, while the ferry was en route to HarbourFront Centre.

A patrol craft was deployed to escort Horizon 9 back to port, where all 165 passengers and seven crew members disembarked safely at the Regional Ferry Terminal.

The ferry sustained some damage to its bow above the waterline but remained operational, while La Digue did not report any damage. MPA said there were no injuries, pollution, or impact to port operations. The authority is investigating the incident.
