GIT Coatings has opened a new global headquarters in Canada’s Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, supported by $5 million in new funding from Export Development Canada.

GIT Coatings said the new carbon-neutral site will expand production of its graphene-based, biocide-free marine coatings.

The facility is ten times larger than its previous location and brings manufacturing, R&D, and global support under one roof.

The company’s coatings are now applied to more than 500 vessels across over 20 countries, helping shipowners reduce fuel use, cut CO₂ emissions, and eliminate toxic copper release.

“Today is a proud milestone for our entire team and for Canada’s ocean and clean-tech communities,” said Mo AlGermozi, CEO of GIT Coatings.

“This world-class site lets us manufacture at scale, accelerate R&D, and serve customers in every major shipping market. All from right here in Dartmouth.”
