China’s Guangzhou Shipyard International has delivered the Atlantic Pearl, the first of two 111,000-DWT LNG dual-fuel crude/product tankers ordered by Eastern Pacific Shipping (EPS).
The handover took place on 12 November, earlier than the agreed delivery date.
Representatives from EPS, the shipyard and CSSC Trade attended the ceremony and signed the delivery documents.
The vessel is part of an eight-ship series of new-generation LNG dual-fuel LR2 tankers developed by the yard. Each ship is 250 m long with a beam of 44 m, a draft of 14.7 m and a deadweight of about 111,000 tonnes.
The design allows the vessels to operate on both marine fuel oil and LNG and meets IMO Tier III and EEDI Phase III standards. They also feature low fuel consumption and broad operational flexibility.
The shipyard said the early delivery reflects its improved control over construction schedules and strengthens its position in the global tanker market.
