The Le Havre Ro-Ro terminal has carried out its first ship-to-ship LNG bunkering operation, just weeks after receiving “LNG Ready Terminal” certification from HAROPA PORT.
On 28 August, the TotalEnergies-chartered bunker tanker Gas Agility supplied 2,400 cbm of LNG to the Ro-Ro vessel Lake Travis.
The operation involved HAROPA PORT teams, terminal handlers, TotalEnergies, Humann & Taconet, Eastern Pacific Shipping, V-Ship France, and the crews of both ships, with safety and regulatory compliance highlighted as priorities.
The “LNG Ready” certification, delivered by the harbour master’s office on 18 June, confirms the terminal has adapted safety procedures, staff training and visitor protocols to handle LNG bunkering operations by truck or ship in line with IAPH recommendations.
“This capacity meets the growing needs of shipowners in terms of energy transition and strengthens HAROPA PORT’s position as a strategic hub for LNG bunkering,” the port said.
