Container line AP Moller Maersk has added another dual-fuel methanol containership, Brisbane Maersk, to its fleet.
The 17,480 TEU vessel was built by HD Hyundai Heavy Industries and is equipped with dual-fuel engines supplied by Everllence.
Maersk operates one of the world’s largest fleets of dual-fuel methanol-powered containerships and was among the early investors in the low-carbon fuel.
More recently, however, the company has also turned to LNG-fuelled ships as part of its broader fuel diversification strategy.
