The Suez Canal Authority (SCA) has ended a 15% transit rebate for large container vessels, reversing a measure introduced last year to support traffic through the waterway.
In a circular issued on April 2, the authority confirmed that the discount — first rolled out in May — will no longer apply.
The incentive had been aimed at encouraging boxship operators to return to the canal following widespread diversions linked to security risks in the Red Sea.
