Titan Clean Fuels has completed a full-scale LNG gas-up and cool-down operation on the vessel Gannet at Skagen Anchorage in Denmark.
The company said the operation prepared the vessel’s LNG systems for service by gradually cooling equipment and introducing gas in a controlled manner.
Gas-up and cool-down procedures are designed to prevent thermal stress and material damage, remove contaminants such as water and carbon dioxide, and reduce the amount of boil-off gas generated during loading.
Titan said the work reflects the growing importance of specialised LNG services as LNG becomes more widely used as a marine fuel.
The operation was carried out in cooperation with Deutsche Energy Terminal, Gasfin, Höegh Evi and OSM Ship Management.
