For the second time, Mein Schiff Relax has been successfully refuelled with bio-LNG at the Port of Barcelona, receiving around 2,000 cbm of the climate-friendly fuel.
The operation was conducted ship-to-ship via the barge Haugesund Knutsen of Knutsen Scale Gas, chartered by Shell.
The liquefied biomethane was produced entirely from certified organic waste, offering a locally sourced and efficient fuel solution.
With this second bio-LNG refuelling, TUI Cruises continues to pursue its decarbonisation strategy, viewing alternative fuels as a key step in reducing the environmental footprint of its fleet.
