V.Group has acquired Njord, a ship efficiency and decarbonisation firm founded by Maersk Tankers, as it seeks to accelerate shipping’s decarbonisation transition.
V.Group said the acquisition expands its decarbonisation ecosystem of expertise, services and technology, strengthening its ability to support shipowners with integrated solutions that deliver measurable fuel-efficiency improvements and longer-term carbon reductions.
By combining Njord’s technology integration capabilities with V.Group’s operational and ship management expertise, the group said it can now offer a more complete decarbonisation platform, ranging from regulatory and compliance guidance to the onboard technical systems needed to implement alternative fuels and efficiency measures in practice.
