Watson Farley & Williams (WFW) advised MPC Container Ships ASA (MPCC) on the order of two high-cube, container-optimised newbuilds and related eight-year charter agreements with a leading liner company.

The $66 million contract was signed with Fujian Mawei Shipyard, with delivery of both vessels scheduled for the second half of 2027. MPCC also holds options for additional units to support future fleet expansion.

The new vessels are designed for high fuel efficiency and optimised for Northern European operations, offering performance gains over existing ECO designs.

The order forms part of MPCC’s strategic programme to improve energy efficiency and reduce regulatory and environmental risks.

WFW’s Hamburg Corporate Partner Dr Christian Finnern led the advisory team, supported by Maximilian Hennig, Bjarne Ruthke, Dr F. Maximilian Boemke, and London-based partners Joe McGladdery and Charles Buss.
