Bunker Suite has completed its first electronic bunker delivery note (E-BDN) trial onboard the Lady Clara in Rotterdam on 19 October, marking a key step in the shift from paper to digital bunker documentation.
The E-BDN system, developed entirely by Bunker Suite, replaces traditional paper notes with a secure digital workflow designed to cut paperwork, reduce manual errors, and create a clear, verifiable record of the delivery.
The company says the trial shows how electronic notes can make bunker operations faster, safer, and more transparent.
Bunker Suite thanked Vertom, Bunkerlink, and Verde Marine for supporting the trial and choosing to work with its digital solution. The firm added that digital documentation will become increasingly useful as ports and regulators push for more accurate and transparent reporting.
Following the trial, Bunker Suite plans to present the results to the Port of Rotterdam and aims to roll out its E-BDN system across the ARA region and beyond as part of its wider digitalisation strategy.
