Between 10 and 17 November, Petrobras supplied three Transpetro vessels with B24 biofuel at the São Sebastião Waterway Terminal (Tebar) in São Paulo.
The fuel contained 24% biodiesel produced by Petrobras Biocombustível (PBio). The Zumbi dos Palmares received around 1,300 mt, while Rômulo Almeida and Carlos Drummond de Andrade were supplied with approximately 400 mt and 300 mt, respectively.
Petrobras said the total volume supplied was equivalent to the fuel consumed by accommodation vessels used during the COP30 climate conference.
The company said the fuel complies with IMO sulfur regulations and can be used as a “drop-in” fuel, meaning it can be consumed by existing ships without technical modifications. Petrobras added that this strengthens Brazil’s position as a competitive supplier of sustainable marine fuels.
“The operation at the São Sebastião Terminal reinforces Petrobras’ role as an agent in the energy transition and in the development of sustainable solutions for the maritime market,” said Claudio Schlosser, Petrobras’ Director of Logistics, Commercialisation and Markets.
