Bunker firm Global Fuel Supply has acquired its first bunker tanker, marking the company’s entry into bunker tanker ownership as it expands physical supply operations in West Africa.

The vessel, to be renamed MV Blue Alliance (ex Atticus), will undergo technical upgrades before beginning operations.

Following the refit, the tanker is scheduled to sail from the UAE to Angola, where it will support bunkering at the Luanda anchorage.

The move reduces the company’s reliance on chartered tonnage and gives it direct control over bunker tanker availability, scheduling, and service delivery in the region.

Global Fuel Supply launched physical bunker supply operations in West Africa earlier this year and has been supplying vessels at Luanda using chartered tonnage. The addition of owned tonnage is expected to strengthen operational flexibility and reliability.
