FuelEU Maritime compliance platform Ahti Pool has entered into a strategic partnership with bunker firm ScanOcean to deliver a dedicated “pool-in-pool” FuelEU Maritime compliance service to shipowners.
Under the arrangement, ScanOcean will offer its customers access to a standalone pooling structure within Ahti Pool, enabling shipowners to use their own biofuel consumption to offset FuelEU compliance deficits. Participants will also retain the option to draw on the broader Ahti Pool for additional flexibility and optimisation.
Ahti Pool said the solution is aimed at fleet operators seeking greater control over renewable fuel usage while reducing exposure to FuelEU-related penalties. The company currently manages FuelEU compliance for fleets operated by owners and operators including Van Weelde Group, Bore, Spliethoff, Stenersen and Neste, overseeing more than €100 million of emissions exposure.
As part of the collaboration, ScanOcean will market and sell a turnkey FuelEU Maritime pooling service that combines Ahti Pool’s compliance management and optimisation tools with ScanOcean’s logistics network, refinery offtake agreements and bunkering operations in the Nordic region.
