Everllence has secured its 2,000th order for a dual-fuel engine from its two-stroke range, with COSCO Shipping Lines Co., Ltd. placing an order for 12 main engines for a series of 18,000-TEU container vessels under construction in China.
The milestone order covers B&W 8G95ME-GI Mk.10.5 engines fitted with EcoEGR systems and destined for installation on 12 container ships being built at Jiangnan Shipyard (Group) Co., Ltd. The order highlights continued demand for large-bore, gas-capable propulsion units as container operators pursue fuel flexibility and emissions reductions.
Everllence said more than half of its current orderbook, measured by engine power, now comprises dual-fuel units across its two-stroke portfolio, which spans methane, methanol, ethane, LPG and ammonia-capable designs.
Bjarne Foldager, Head of Two-Stroke Business at Everllence, said the milestone underscores the company’s long-standing presence in China and its collaboration with COSCO. He added that dual-fuel propulsion and seamless fuel switching remain central to the industry’s pathway towards lower-emission shipping.
The company also pointed to growing digitalisation of engines, with connected systems enabling real-time performance monitoring and optimisation across fleets.
