Fratelli Cosulich Group has taken another step in its fleet expansion programme with the launch of Lucia Cosulich, the second methanol-ready bunker vessel in a four-ship series.

The vessel was launched on 2 May at Taizhou Maple Leaf Shipyard, marking a key milestone as it moves from construction into the next phase ahead of delivery.

The ceremony brought together representatives from across the project, with Lucia Cosulich named as Godmother, highlighting the vessel’s role within the group’s broader push towards lower-carbon marine fuel solutions.

As part of a planned quartet of IMO II chemical bunker vessels, the newbuild reflects a strategy focused on fuel optionality, enabling the fleet to respond to evolving regulatory and market requirements.

Designed to operate with methanol capability, the vessel is equipped with systems intended to support efficient bunkering operations while maintaining readiness for alternative fuels as adoption scales across the industry.

The latest launch reinforces Fratelli Cosulich’s position in the marine fuels supply segment, as it continues investing in assets aligned with the sector’s decarbonisation pathway and long-term fuel transition.
