Havfram seals German offshore wind deal

Norwegian contractor Havfram Wind has firmed up a contract for wind turbine transport and installation work on the RWE’s up to 1.6 GW offshore wind cluster in the German North Sea.

RWE is developing four wind farm sites under the Nordseecluster project located north of the island of Juist. The project will be constructed in two phases and Havfram will under the contract, which follows a preferred supplier agreement, transport and support the installation of 104 Vestas offshore wind turbines with a capacity of 15 MW each.

The company will utilise both of its newbuild wind turbine installation vessels throughout both phases. Turbine installation of the two wind farms in the first phase is expected to start in 2026, and offshore construction works for the second phase are scheduled to begin in 2028. Even Larsen, CEO of Havfram Wind, stated: “We are very pleased to successfully conclude the negotiations with RWE for the Nordseecluster projects. RWE is an experienced developer and the trust in Havfram Wind for projects of such scale is proof of our growing position in the market.”
