New Delhi, December 20, 2021: HMM said the 13,100 teu HMM Dream was refuelled with biofuel blends during bunkering at the Port of Busan on 29 November and successfully performed a biofuel testing voyage over 10 days in the Pacific using a blend of VLSFO and biofuel.
An HMM official said, “The success of the biofuel voyage will accelerate the commercialisation of biofuels according to the reports published in seatrade-maritime.com.
“We will continue to research and invest in cleaner and eco-friendly alternative fuels for ships to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.”
A growing number of container lines are trialing drop in biofuels as they seek to reduce the vessel’s carbon footprint.
