Advanced Polymer Coatings (APC) has signed an agreement with Italy-based maritime group Fratelli Cosulich to supply its MarineLINE® cargo tank coating for two methanol-ready chemical tankers currently on order.
Under the deal, APC will coat the cargo tanks of two 7,999 dwt IMO Class II tankers, ANNA COSULICH and CARLOTTA COSULICH, which are being built at Taizhou Maple Leaf Shipbuilding in China. The vessels are being prepared for methanol bunkering operations in Singapore.
APC said the MarineLINE® coating was selected for its chemical resistance, faster tank turnaround and extended service life, as well as its ability to safely transport methanol.
The newbuilds form part of Fratelli Cosulich’s Marine Energy fleet expansion, which is focused on sustainable bunkering. The vessels will be methanol-ready, with the capability to carry and bunker the fuel and, in future, use methanol as a combustion fuel. They will also feature integrated nitrogen generator systems and safety arrangements designed for handling low-flashpoint fuels.
Once delivered, the ships will be operated by Fratelli Cosulich Bunkers (S) Pte Ltd in Singapore. ANNA COSULICH is scheduled for delivery in the first quarter of 2026, with CARLOTTA COSULICH to follow later the same year.
