Bunker One Sweden has taken the chemical tanker Sagafjord on long-term charter, adding new capacity and flexibility to its bunker supply operations in Northern Europe.

The vessel, which entered service this month, is equipped to deliver both conventional and alternative marine fuels, positioning Bunker One for the ongoing energy transition.

“Sagafjord offers greater flexibility with her large cargo capacity, excellent condition, and strong maneuverability. She shortens mooring times, improves efficiency, and is technically equipped to handle both conventional fuels and alternatives. This means customers across Sweden and Northern Europe can count on reliable supply today, with readiness for tomorrow’s fuels like biofuels, methanol, and ammonia,” said Petter Jonason, COO of Bunker One Sweden.

Operating primarily from Sweden and Denmark, Sagafjord will also support customers across Germany and the UK. As a chemical tanker, she is already suited for biofuels and methanol, and with approvals could be adapted for ammonia.

“Sweden has a strong bunkering tradition and is leading on green shipping initiatives. Sagafjord enhances our ability to supply both traditional and alternative fuels, supporting this transition.

“For us, it’s a clear signal: Bunker One is here for the long term, investing in a modern, versatile fleet to serve customers today and tomorrow,” Jonason added.
