Jiangnan Shipyard has delivered CMA CGM ESMERALDA, the fourth vessel in its “KUN” series of methanol dual-fuel container ships built for CMA CGM.
The 15,000 TEU vessel is part of the KUN-15M design platform, a new-generation container ship series developed in-house by the yard.
Jiangnan said the design focuses on improved efficiency, energy savings and environmental performance, aligning with growing demand for lower-emission shipping solutions.
The methanol dual-fuel capability allows the vessel to operate on conventional fuel while being able to switch to methanol, supporting compliance with tightening emissions regulations and decarbonisation targets.
The delivery marks continued progress in CMA CGM’s alternative fuel strategy and highlights increasing momentum behind methanol as a marine fuel option.
