Stolt-Nielsen Limited said on Monday that its subsidiary Stolt-Nielsen Gas is in discussions regarding the possible sale of up to half of its interest in Avenir LNG Limited, a LNG bunkering firm.
Avenir LNG is a small-scale liquefied natural gas supplier focused on supporting the marine energy transition and operates a fleet of five LNG bunkering vessels, with two additional newbuildings under construction.
Any potential transaction would be subject to final documentation and customary approvals, which are expected in the first quarter of 2026, the company said.
Stolt-Nielsen added that it would retain joint ownership and operational involvement in Avenir LNG should the transaction proceed, creating a joint venture with the incoming investor.
Stolt-Nielsen said the disclosure was made in accordance with the Norwegian Securities Trading Act.
The company’s wider portfolio includes bulk liquid and chemical shipping through Stolt Tankers, storage terminals under Stolthaven Terminals, tank container logistics via Stolt Tank Containers, aquaculture business Stolt Sea Farm, and various other investments.
