Spanish renewable gases company HyFive has signed a term sheet to supply 10,000 tonnes per annum (tpa) of e-methanol to an undisclosed customer in the Amsterdam-Rotterdam-Antwerp (ARA) region.

The e-methanol will be supplied from the company’s planned HyMet Musel plant at the Port of Gijón in Spain.

The new agreement increases contracted volumes from the project to 60,000 tpa, equivalent to 60% of the plant’s planned annual production capacity of 100,000 tpa, HyFive said in a LinkedIn post on Sunday.

The announcement follows another term sheet signed earlier this year covering offtake of up to half of HyMet Musel’s planned production.

Earlier this month, HyFive also signed a Letter of Intent with storage infrastructure provider Evos to explore the storage and handling of e-methanol at the Port of Rotterdam, supporting the project’s planned supply chain into northwestern Europe.
