IndianOil (Mauritius), a subsidiary of Indian Oil Corporation, has started work on a new bunker fuel storage facility in Mer Rouge, Mauritius, as it looks to expand its bunkering operations in the country.
The company inaugurated the facility at MAP Land in Mer Rouge, with the project set to provide around 28,000 mt of storage capacity.
IndianOil (Mauritius) is investing $25 million in the project, although it has not disclosed a completion timeline or further details on the facility.
The company has operated in Mauritius since 2004 and currently supplies very low sulphur fuel oil (VLSFO) and marine gasoil (MGO) at Port Louis.
The new storage capacity is expected to strengthen its ability to supply bunker fuel to ships calling at the port and support the growth of its marine fuel business in Mauritius.
