ClassNK has been authorised by the French Government to carry out statutory surveys and issue certificates for French-flagged vessels, expanding its services in the European market.
The approval, granted by France’s Directorate General for Maritime Affairs, Fisheries and Aquaculture, enables ClassNK to perform surveys and certification on behalf of the French government under international conventions, including SOLAS, MARPOL and the International Convention on Load Lines.
The authorisation allows ClassNK to provide a one-stop service for French-flagged vessels, covering classification, statutory surveys and certification.
ClassNK said it has already been delegated authority by more than 100 countries and regions worldwide to conduct statutory surveys and issue certificates under international maritime conventions, including for several European nations.
The classification society said the new authorisation will support the safety and regulatory compliance of French-flagged ships while strengthening its services for the global maritime industry.
