CBL International Limited has agreed to acquire a 50.5% stake in Green Marine Energy Holdings Limited, with a focus on expanding its bunkering and biofuel supply business in Malaysia.
GMH’s operations include marine fuel supply covering both conventional bunkers and biofuels, supported by a licence to operate within Malaysian waters. The deal gives CBL a more direct role in physical supply, building on its existing bunkering facilitation model.
The company said the move will support the development of biofuel bunkering capabilities at key ports, including Port Klang, as demand for lower-carbon marine fuels grows.
GMH also trades feedstocks for sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) and biofuels, offering additional upside linked to regional SAF growth.
CBL CEO Dr Teck Lim Chia said the acquisition broadens the firm’s presence in the sustainable fuel supply chain while keeping its core focus on marine fuel services.
